There was an article in the New York Times yesterday...

...entitled "Iranian Presidential Candidate Calls Ahmadinejad an Extremist" that I forgot to mention. It's not a long piece but there's so much in it that you really need to read it yourself (it can be found online and it's worth it) but my takeaway is this: look for a huge positive change in Iran if Mir Hussein Moussavi defeats Mahmoud Ahmedinejad for President on June 12. Since very little is left to chance in Iran, I think the mullahs are signaling a desire to reduce tension and reenter the Community of Nations. Nuclear weapons and the Palestinian question will remain stumbling blocks, but if this new guy wins I think we could be in for a much more constructive era with Iran going forward.
