I suppose a number of people...

...were won over by Mitt Romney's performance in last Wednesday night's debate. (Even Buzz Bissinger has a piece to that effect in the Daily Beast today.) After all, the former governor of Massachusetts seemed like a moderate, didn't he? (I can just see my brother in Minnesota nodding his head right now.)

But would a President Romney govern as a moderate? Or would he be a captive of his party's right wing? Who knows? (Who knows what Romney believes right now? Or what he'll believe five minutes from now? He has to be the most -- ahem -- "flexible" politician I've ever seen in my life.)

The Times has a front page article today on the foreign policy team advising the former governor. Just so you know, among them are such holdovers from the George W. Bush administration as Dan Senor, John Bolton and Liz Cheney (above).

The moral of the story? If you liked the two "splendid little wars" of the Bush years, you're going to love a ground war in Iran. (And it's a much larger country, by the way.)
