The ads on pages A2 and A3...

...of the New York Times often leave me scratching my head. Today, for example, is an ad for a pair of "peep-toe platform stilettos with petal detail," by Salvatore Ferragamo. They can be yours for the meager sum of $1,350. I know I'm notoriously cheap, but doesn't that sound like a lot of money for a pair of shoes?
