Mike Pence is a Republican...

...Congressman from Indiana. He's often mentioned as one of the party's rising stars. If so, then God help the GOP! He was on Hardball yesterday and the topic of the segment was "How to Rebuild the Republican Party." Chris Matthews must have asked him five different times and five different ways if he believed in the scientific method. Pence just couldn't bring himself to say yes. He hemmed and hawed and dodged the questions as best he could but couldn't even concede to the teaching of science in schools! How can the Republicans ever hope to reach college graduates with spokesmen like that? Never mind the economy or foreign policy. How can they ever hope to be anything but a minority party without a full-throated endorsement of science?
