I saw three blowouts...

...this weekend, beginning with Naperville Central's thrashing of Homewood-Flossmoor Friday night. Yesterday, it was Prairie Ridge over Nazareth, 35-7, and last night it was Bolingbrook over Downers Grove South, 47-19.

Nazareth's offense didn't even score, and the Bolingbrook game wasn't as close as the outcome would indicate. Raider quarterback Aaron Bailey put on quite a show, scoring the first five touchdowns of the game. (The Redhawks may have their hands full with him next week.)

Elsewhere in 8A, Loyola beat Lyons, 33-10, in Wilmette. Charlie Dowdle caught ten passes for 194 yards. The Ramblers will now host Glenbard North next Saturday, who shut out Stevenson, 28-0, in Carol Stream. (The Patriots, you may recall, eliminated Maine South in the second round.)

In 7A, St. Rita defeated O'Fallon, 19-14, Friday night to set up a great game with Wheaton Warrenville South, who beat East St. Louis, 10-7. The contest will take place at 75th and Western.

God willing, I'll be at the Bolingbrook-Naperville Central game next Friday night, Glenbard North-Loyola Saturday afternoon, and Wheaton Warrenville South-St. Rita Saturday night.

Oh, and look for more detailed posts on the Prairie Ridge and Bolingbrook victories later today.
