While it's tempting to root for...

...someone like Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, or even Michele Bachmann

to run for and win the Republican nomination in 2012, I really don't think it would be good for the country. (By the way, my Worst Name of the Week Award goes to Elwyn Tinklenberg, Bachmann's last opponent in 2008. How can you expect to be taken seriously with a name like that?)

Sure Obama would win in a walk, but what Americans deserve most is an honest, intelligent debate of the issues. That's why I like David Frum's blog, New Majority.com:

He's one of the few Republicans around right now who is trying to rebuild the party and restore credibility to the GOP. Needless to say, he's no fan of the Sarah Palins, Glenn Becks, or Rush Limbaughs of the world. It will be interesting to see if reasonable, responsible Republicans like him and David Brooks can succeed. And it's actually in the interest of all of us that they do.
