...that the Democrats will lose at least 20 seats in the House and a few in the Senate in the mid-term elections in 2010. That wouldn't be so unusual for the party that just won the White House in the previous election. But I wonder. A lot of that hinges on the Republican strategy of opposing Obama and the Democrats at every turn and then hoping and praying in the meantime that the economy doesn't recover by then. Daniel Gross mentioned this in a piece in Slate yesterday:

What if the economy, aided by zero interest rates and a massive stimulus package, recovers by then? Would the Democrats still lose seats, or gain seats?
