In an effort to spin their legacy...

...the Bushies keep saying that they have kept America safe since 9/11. I guess that's true, strictly speaking, as there haven't been any other terrorist attacks on United States soil since then. But what of the Iraq War? More Americans have died there than on 9/11 (not to mention tens of thousands of Iraqis). Don't they bear the responsibility for that? After all, it was a war of choice, not necessity. And the president has the duty not only to protect the citizenry but also the lives of our servicemen and women.
