It's all anyone could talk about in the summer of 2010.
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill "was the largest in the history of the petroleum industry. Following the explosion and sinking of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, a sea-floor oil gusher flowed for 87 days, until it was capped on July 15. The government estimated the total discharge at 4.9 million barrels."
Remember that? It was a big deal. Everybody was saying things like, "Why doesn't the president do something?"
But that's what Ebola is like. It's a "thing" right now, but no one will be talking about it in six months.
