Week 2 in Illinois high school football...

...kicks off (literally) today at 4 o'clock in Wheaton as the Hawks from Maine South (No. 8 in the Trib, No. 23 in the Sun-Times) take on the top-ranked Tigers of Wheaton Warrenville South. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Tonight, Stevenson will try to improve to 2-0 as they travel to Glenbrook South. The Titans will try to avoid their first 0-2 start since Coach Mike Noll took over the helm in 2004.

Also, Providence (No. 15 in the Trib, No. 13 in the Times) will play at No. 4 Joliet Catholic.

On Saturday, Mt. Carmel (No. 16 in the Times) travels to Lake Forest Academy, the alma mater of Bill Ayers. You remember Bill Ayers -- he was the famous "terrorist" from the 1960s that President Obama used to "pal around with" in Hyde Park, according to Sarah Palin.

And on Saturday night, Loyola will play at Montini (No. 22 in the Times) in Lombard.

Finally, on Sunday, No. 2 St. Rita will take on Jefferson City Helias (Missouri) in East St. Louis.
