I just noticed that defending 5A state champs Montini, above, open up the 2012 season against an 8A team, Palatine (whom they beat last year, 26-21), and a 7A team, Lincoln-Way East. The two schools had a combined record last year of 19-3.
Kudos to Broncos Coach Chris Andriano for strength of schedule!

Coincidentally, I am a graduate of Montini ( '82 ) - my Mom still lives across the street from the front door and my baby sister ( '00 ) is the director of alumni relations. Chris Andriano was the "new" head coach back then - I think this will be his 34th year? He's definitely on a roll.
