...of Lemonheads candy, died at age 93. Among his survivors are his son, Salvatore, the president and chief executive of the Ferrara Pan Candy Company:
Salvatore Ferrara said his birth inspired his father to invent the Lemonhead candy.
“He always claimed that when I was born, that I came out of my mother sideways,” the younger Mr. Ferrara said, “and my head was shaped like a lemon.”
The Forest Park, Illinois-based company also makes Red Hots, Atomic FireBalls and Boston Baked Beans.
Boston Baked Beans? Do they still make those? Who buys them? The only time I ever saw anyone buy Boston Baked Beans was when my brother once pulled the lever of a vending machine marked "Surprise?" He wasn't pleased.
