...into it, but I wouldn't be surprised if Robert Gibbs's dig at the "professional left" was a calculated attempt to portray President Obama as a pragmatist.If the administration can be seen as under fire from both the right and the left, then maybe independents will think of Democratic candidates in November as occupying the responsible center.

It could be that Gibbs is just starting to crack. I remember a Daily Show interview with George Stephanopoulos said that Press Secretary is often the first position of an administration to burn out.
