Mark Hurd...

...(who reminds me a little of Michael Scott from "The Office") is out as CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Do I care? Not really. But I'll bet Carly Fiorina does. She's in the middle of a tightly-contested race for the United States Senate from California against the incumbent, Barbara Boxer. Fiorina was the CEO before Hurd and the last thing she should want is to remind voters of her tenure at H-P:

"Did you hear the news? Mark Hurd resigned from H-P."

"No kidding? Why?"

"Some sexual harassment thing. Too bad, too. He did a good job there."

"Really?"

"Yeah. They had to can the CEO before him. She presided over a 50 percent drop in the price of the stock, laid off tens of thousands of workers and walked away with about $20 million in severance. Hurd turned the whole thing around."

"Wow. That other CEO must have been a real clown. Who was it, anyway?"

"Carly Fiorina."

"Oh."
