Charles McMillion...

...(which is blogworthy in itself), is the president and chief economist of MBG Information Services in Washington. In Bob Herbert's column in the Times today (my emphasis):

Mr. McMillion tells us that there are now 3.4 million fewer private-sector jobs in the U.S. than there were a decade ago. In the last 10 years, we’ve seen the worst job creation record since 1928 to 1938.
