Now, I know what you're thinking: What the heck kind of name is "Argo" for a high school?
Apparently, the school -- which dates back to 1920 -- was named after the "Argo area" which surrounds the large Argo corn processing plant located just down the street. And "Argo," you may recall, was the name of the ship on which Jason and the Argonauts sailed in search of the Golden Fleece. (The craft, in turn, was named after its builder, Argus.) In addition, the ship was thought to have starched sails, hence the name of the corn starch made nearby.
