Newt Gingrich is now ahead...

...of Mitt Romney in South Carolina on Intrade. (Ron Paul is in third.) If the former speaker wins the Palmetto State primary on Saturday the first three winners will be:

1. Iowa -- Rick Santorum (It took until yesterday, but it looks like he won.)
2. New Hampshire -- Mitt Romney
3. South Carolina -- Newt Gingrich?

Remember, the winner of the South Carolina Republican primary has gone on to win the party's nomination every time since 1980.

After South Carolina comes the Florida primary on January 31. We may have ourselves a ball game, folks!
