I just started an interesting book...

...called, Were You Born on the Wrong Continent?, by Thomas Geoghegan, a labor lawyer from Chicago. (Good luck pronouncing that name.)

Geoghegan compares everyday life in the United States with that of Europe, and as he tells it, ours doesn't compare very well. (The Wall Street Journal hated it, of course, because it doesn't conform with their narrative.) But even though I'm only a quarter of the way in, I would recommend it. You can read more about it here.
