Bill Monroe, former moderator...

...of "Meet the Press," died at age 90.

Contrary to popular belief, Monroe did not have a cameo role in the 1951 Superman episode, "The Mole Men."

(Incidentally, that laser weapon was a prop constructed from an Electrolux vacuum cleaner.)
