...is from Ron Muhitch (above), head football coach at Wheaton Warrenville South. (You know, Red Grange's alma mater.) And don't tell me you don't know who Red Grange is.
From Edgy Tim's blog in the Tribune this morning:
"The one thing that's missing these days is kids having fun as well as
competing. Kids need to remember to work hard but to also have some
fun."
And Muhitch is right. The vast majority of today's high school athletes will never play ball in college. And an even fewer number -- miniscule, really -- will ever get the chance to try out for a professional team. So, kids -- for the love of God -- have some fun while you're playing. In fact, I'd maintain that if you're not having fun, then you're not doing it right.
Maybe that's why Muhitch is 98-17 in nine seasons (by my count) at Wheaton South.
