Claude Choules, the last...

...remaining World War I combat veteran, died at age 110. (You gotta love anybody who wears an eyepatch like that.)

Mr. Choules was married for 76 years to the former Ethel Wildgoose, which would be blogworthy in and of itself.

But what really caught my attention was that the career military man took a creative writing class, at the urging of his children, in his 80s and published his first book at well past 100.

There's hope for me yet.
