Mark Sanford's days are numbered...

...as Governor of South Carolina. I expect him to resign in the next week or so now that questions are being raised about how he paid for his trips to Argentina. I think he could have hung on otherwise, but now sentiment in the state seems to be shifting against him. He already had an adversarial relationship with the Republican-controlled legislature and the lieutenant governor, and recent events will make it even harder to accomplish anything. He only has a year and a half left in his term anyway, and any hopes for higher office have been dashed. Not to mention that he needs time to repair his personal life. I think he'll conclude shortly that there's little point in hanging on.
