I've been collecting good sentences...

...for a while now and stashing them away for future use. Since my list is piling up I guess I'll just release them one at a time and link to their original pieces so you can read the context for yourself.

My first Sentence of the Day, then, is from a piece in the Daily Beast from a couple weeks ago, "There Aren’t Enough White Voters for GOP Win," by Stuart Stevens (above), a top strategist for Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign. Ready? Here goes:

The last time a Republican presidential candidate won with enough votes to be declared the winner on election night was 1988.

For all you non-math majors out there, that was 28 years ago. I was only 30 years old and my kids weren't even born yet.
