Huell Howser, a television host...

...from California, died at age 67. (Young.) Does that name, Huell, sound unusual to you? It should. According to his obit in the New York Times, it's a combination of his parent's names, Harold and Jewel.

Really? Is that the best they could do?

"Congratulations, it's a boy!"

"That's great! What should we name him?"

"How about John, after your father?"

"No. How about Robert, after your father?"

"No."

"I got it! We'll name him 'Jold.' "

"Jold?"

"Yeah. You know, a combination of Jewel and Harold."

"No; but you're on to something. How about 'Huell?' "

"Perfect! Huell it is."
