...South Carolina announced his early resignation from the United States Senate today. The tea party Republican will become president of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

I don't know the backstory on this, but it sure seems like further evidence that the tea party fever in Washington may be finally -- at long last -- breaking.
