...was a bust. No. 3 Warren beat Mundelein for the third time this year, by 35 points. But it doesn't look like any of the other 4A games were any better; No. 1 Simeon and No. 2 Proviso East romped over Marist and Schaumburg, respectively.
The evening wasn't a total loss, though; I had a really good reuben sandwich at a place called Boloney's in downtown Barrington, above. And I also drove past the Christian Science church, below, that Henry Paulson must have attended when he was growing up out there. No mention of the former Treasury secretary and Dartmouth lineman at the school, however. Gary Fencik, yes; Hank Paulson, no.
Now it's on to Hinsdale Central tomorrow night for the Proviso East-West Aurora game, or -- ready for this? -- Northern Illinois for the Peoria Central - Rockford East 3A Supersectional game at six followed by the Warren - Rockford Auburn 4A Supersectional game at eight.
