...Wilmette today. The Sun-Times had ranked Montini No. 9 in the preseason poll, above Loyola at No. 13. What were they thinking? The Trib, on the other hand, had Loyola at No. 4 and Montini at No. 11. That seems a little more like it.
Loyola could have played with anyone today. They have a lot of weapons on offense. Take wide receiver Charlie Dowdle (above) for example. The senior from Glenview caught two touchdown passes for the second week in a row.
Next week the Ramblers host the Caxys of Lake Forest Academy. Caxys? The Wilmette squad should be 3-0 when they travel down to Providence on September 16.
