...said about Paul Ryan's new budget was from the Congressman himself: "It's not a budget -- it's a cause!"
Or, as I would put it: "It's not a budget -- it's a con!"
What else would you call something that adds to the federal debt for ten years and then doesn't even achieve a balanced budget until 2040? (When I'll be 82 years old!)
Ryan's "budget" also dismantles Medicare and Medicaid while simultaneously lowering taxes on the rich by an offsetting amount. (And leaves Social Security and Defense alone.)
Oh, and it's all based on questionable math, magic asterisks and wildly optimistic assumptions.
(And did I forget to mention that Ryan's plan repeals the Affordable Care Act and the Dodd-Frank financial regulatory reform? What does that have to do with the budget?)
Congressman Ryan's "budget" should really be thought of as a "Libertarian Manifesto."
