...as closely as I do, i. e., you have a life, here are the three most likely midterm election scenarios, in order of probability:
(1) The Republicans take back the House and gain seats but fall short in the Senate;
(2) The Republicans take back the House and the Senate; or
(3) The Republicans gain seats in both chambers but the Democrats retain control of both.
While the first is the most likely, according to all the experts I read, it hasn't happened in a long time. In other words, when the House "flips" so does the Senate. So if this proves to be a true "wave" election, expect both houses to go.
And what about scenario (4), where the Democrats gain seats in one or both houses? Fuhgeddaboudit! Almost never happens in the midterms.
