Yesterday was President Obama's...

...birthday (and somebody else's, but I can't remember who).

Just in time for his birthday, the president received results from a CNN poll that showed that 27 percent of Republicans say he was "probably" not born in the United States, and another 14 percent of Republicans say he was "definitely" not born here.

Think about that for a second. If you lined up ten Republicans, at random, four of them wouldn't feel comfortable that their president is a citizen. Where do you suppose they get such ideas?

Well, for starters, Rush Limbaugh said yesterday, "They tell us August 4th is [President Obama's] birthday. We haven't seen any proof of that!"

But according to CNN, the Republican governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle, has said, "...I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health." Lingle added, "…The president was in fact born at Kapi'olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that's just a fact."

Not convinced that Governor Lingle isn't in on the conspiracy? Well then consider this: the president's mother was born in Kansas which automatically makes her son an American citizen. It doesn't matter where he was born.
